Xeon W-10855M vs Core i7-1255U comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon W-10855M performs better than the Core i7-1255U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1255U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Xeon W-10855M that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-10855M has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1255U. Also, the Xeon W-10855M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Xeon W-10855M thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon W-10855M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
