Xeon Silver 4210R vs Xeon Gold 6254 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon Gold 6254 performs better than the Xeon Silver 4210R. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon Silver 4210R in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon Gold 6254 has slightly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Xeon Silver 4210R has 10 cores. Despite this, the Xeon Silver 4210R has more threads than the Xeon Gold 6254. Our comparison shows that the Xeon Gold 6254 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4210R. Also, the Xeon Gold 6254 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon Silver 4210R CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Gold 6254 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon Silver 4210R has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
