Xeon Silver 4210R vs Ryzen Z1 Extreme comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon Silver 4210R performs better than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. Despite this, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon Silver 4210R has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon Silver 4210R. Also, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme outputs less heat than Xeon Silver 4210R thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon Silver 4210R has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
