Xeon Silver 4210R vs Core i9-12900HK comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-12900HK performs better than the Xeon Silver 4210R. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon Silver 4210R in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-12900HK has slightly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon Silver 4210R has 10 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i9-12900HK has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4210R. Also, the Core i9-12900HK has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-12900HK outputs less heat than Xeon Silver 4210R thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon Silver 4210R has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
