Xeon Silver 4110 vs Core i7-1255U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1255U beats the Xeon Silver 4110 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon Silver 4110 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1255U has slightly more cores than the Xeon Silver 4110. Indeed, the Core i7-1255U has 10 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Xeon Silver 4110. Despite this, the Xeon Silver 4110 has more threads than the Core i7-1255U. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon Silver 4110 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Xeon Silver 4110 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon Silver 4110 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
