Xeon Gold 6128 vs Xeon W-2155 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon Gold 6128 is faster than the Xeon W-2155. Despite this, the Xeon W-2155 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon W-2155 has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Xeon Gold 6128 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon Gold 6128. Our comparison shows that the Xeon Gold 6128 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon W-2155. Despite this, the Xeon W-2155 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon Gold 6128 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W-2155 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon Gold 6128 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
