Xeon Gold 6126 vs Core i5-14500T benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon Gold 6126 performs better than the Core i5-14500T. Despite this, the Core i5-14500T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-14500T has slightly more cores with 14 cores compared to the Xeon Gold 6126 that has 12 cores. Despite this, the Xeon Gold 6126 has more threads than the Core i5-14500T. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon Gold 6126 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-14500T. Despite this, the Core i5-14500T has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Xeon Gold 6126 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-14500T. The Xeon Gold 6126 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon Gold 6126 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
