Xeon E5-520 vs Xeon X3450 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X3450 is faster than the Xeon E5-520. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-520 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon X3450 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon X3450 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-520. Also, the Xeon X3450 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon E5-520 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X3450 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon X3450 has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-520
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon E5-520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
