Xeon E5-520 vs Core i3-6098P comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-520 is faster than the Core i3-6098P. Despite this, the Core i3-6098P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-520 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-6098P has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i3-6098P has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-520. The Core i3-6098P outputs less heat than Xeon E5-520 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon E5-520 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-6098P. The Xeon E5-520 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon E5-520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
