Xeon E5-430 vs Core i7-4700MQ benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-430 performs better than the Core i7-4700MQ. Despite this, the Core i7-4700MQ has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-4700MQ has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-430 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-4700MQ. The Core i7-4700MQ outputs less heat than Xeon E5-430 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Xeon E5-430 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-4700MQ
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon E5-430 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
