Xeon E5-2697A v4 vs Core i7-12700T benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-12700T beats the Xeon E5-2697A v4 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2697A v4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has slightly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i7-12700T has 12 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-12700T. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12700T. Despite this, the Core i7-12700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-12700T outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2697A v4 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-12700T has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-2697A v4. Despite this, the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-12700T.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
