Xeon E5-2683 v3 vs Core i7-1365U comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1365U is faster than the Xeon E5-2683 v3. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2683 v3 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2683 v3 has slightly more cores than the Core i7-1365U. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2683 v3 has 14 cores compared to 10 cores found in the Core i7-1365U. It also has more threads than the Core i7-1365U. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2683 v3 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1365U. Despite this, the Core i7-1365U has a significantly higher turbo speed.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2683 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
