Xeon E5-2680 v4 vs Xeon W-11855M benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2680 v4 performs better than the Xeon W-11855M. Despite this, the Xeon W-11855M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2680 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon W-11855M has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-11855M. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-11855M has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2680 v4. Also, the Xeon W-11855M has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Xeon W-11855M outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2680 v4 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2680 v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
