Xeon E5-2680 v2 vs Ryzen 5 7530U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 7530U beats the Xeon E5-2680 v2 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2680 v2 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2680 v2 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 7530U. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2680 v2 has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 7530U. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 7530U. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2680 v2 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 7530U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7530U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7530U outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2680 v2 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2680 v2 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
