Xeon E5-2667 v2 vs Ryzen 5 5500GT benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5500GT beats the Xeon E5-2667 v2 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2667 v2 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2667 v2 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 5500GT. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2667 v2 has 8 cores compared to 3 cores found in the Ryzen 5 5500GT. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5500GT. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 5500GT has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2667 v2. Also, the Ryzen 5 5500GT has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 5500GT outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2667 v2 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2667 v2 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
