Xeon E5-2666 v3 vs Core i5-14600K specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-14600K beats the Xeon E5-2666 v3 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2666 v3 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-14600K has slightly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon E5-2666 v3 has 10 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-14600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2666 v3. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-14600K has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-2666 v3. Despite this, the Xeon E5-2666 v3 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-14600K.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2666 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
