Xeon E5-2650 vs Xeon W-2223 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon W-2223 performs better than the Xeon E5-2650. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2650 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2650 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon W-2223 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-2223. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon W-2223 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2650. Also, the Xeon W-2223 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon E5-2650 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W-2223 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2650 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
