Xeon E5-2643 v2 vs Core i7-1365U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1365U is faster than the Xeon E5-2643 v2. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2643 v2 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1365U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Xeon E5-2643 v2 has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2643 v2 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1365U. Despite this, the Core i7-1365U has a slightly higher turbo speed.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2643 v2 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
