Xeon E5-2640 v4 vs Core i7-1370P benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2640 v4 beats the Core i7-1370P in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1370P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1370P has slightly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon E5-2640 v4 has 10 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2640 v4 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1370P. Despite this, the Core i7-1370P has a significantly higher turbo speed.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2640 v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
