Xeon E5-2630 v4 vs Xeon Silver 4110 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 is faster than the Xeon Silver 4110. Despite this, the Xeon Silver 4110 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Xeon Silver 4110 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon Silver 4110. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon Silver 4110. Also, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
