Xeon E5-2620 vs Core Ultra 7 255H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core Ultra 7 255H is faster than the Xeon E5-2620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2620 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core Ultra 7 255H has significantly more cores than the Xeon E5-2620. Indeed, the Core Ultra 7 255H has 16 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E5-2620. It also has more threads than the Xeon E5-2620. Both the Xeon E5-2620 and Core Ultra 7 255H have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core Ultra 7 255H has a significantly higher turbo speed.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2620 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
