Xeon E5-2609 v3 vs Athlon 3000G comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2609 v3 performs better than the Athlon 3000G. Despite this, the Athlon 3000G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2609 v3 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Athlon 3000G has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Athlon 3000G. Our comparison shows that the Athlon 3000G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2609 v3. The Athlon 3000G outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2609 v3 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon E5-2609 v3 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
