Xeon E5-1660 vs Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G beats the Xeon E5-1660 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1660 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-1660 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1660 has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-1660. Also, the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G outputs less heat than Xeon E5-1660 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1660 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
