Xeon E5-1660 v3 vs Xeon X5675 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5675 is faster than the Xeon E5-1660 v3. Despite this, the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Xeon X5675 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon X5675. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5675 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-1660 v3. Despite this, the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon X5675 outputs less heat than Xeon E5-1660 v3 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
