Xeon E5-1660 v3 vs Core i7-1370P benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-1660 v3 is faster than the Core i7-1370P. Despite this, the Core i7-1370P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1370P has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E5-1660 v3. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1370P. Despite this, the Core i7-1370P has a significantly higher turbo speed.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1660 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
