Xeon E5-1650 vs Core i7-1355U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1650 beats the Core i7-1355U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores than the Xeon E5-1650. Indeed, the Core i7-1355U has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E5-1650. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-1650 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a slightly higher turbo speed.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1650 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
