Xeon E5-1620 v4 vs Core i3-N300 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1620 v4 beats the Core i3-N300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N300 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon E5-1620 v4 that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-1620 v4 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N300. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i3-N300 outputs less heat than Xeon E5-1620 v4 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1620 v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
