Xeon E3-1245 V2 vs Core i3-N300 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-N300 beats the Xeon E3-1245 V2 in overall performance. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1245 V2 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon E3-1245 V2 that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E3-1245 V2 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N300. In terms of cache, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E3-1245 V2. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1245 V2 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-N300.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon E3-1245 V2 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
