Xeon E3-1225 vs Core Ultra 7 265K benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core Ultra 7 265K performs better than the Xeon E3-1225. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1225 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core Ultra 7 265K has significantly more cores than the Xeon E3-1225. Indeed, the Core Ultra 7 265K has 20 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Xeon E3-1225. It also has more threads than the Xeon E3-1225. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 7 265K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1225. Also, the Core Ultra 7 265K has a significantly higher turbo speed.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Xeon E3-1225 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
