Xeon E3-1225 vs Athlon 3000G benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1225 is faster than the Athlon 3000G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon 3000G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E3-1225 has significantly more cores than the Athlon 3000G. Indeed, the Xeon E3-1225 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Athlon 3000G. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Athlon 3000G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1225. The Athlon 3000G outputs less heat than Xeon E3-1225 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon E3-1225 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
