Xeon E3-1220 v3 vs Xeon E3-1226 v3 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E3-1226 v3 performs better than the Xeon E3-1220 v3. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1220 v3 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E3-1226 v3 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1220 v3. Also, the Xeon E3-1226 v3 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon E3-1220 v3 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1226 v3 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
