Xeon E-2276M vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1255U beats the Xeon E-2276M in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2276M in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Xeon E-2276M has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2276M has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1255U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Xeon E-2276M thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1255U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E-2276M. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E-2276M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
