Xeon E-2276M vs Core 5 120U specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 5 120U is faster than the Xeon E-2276M. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2276M in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core 5 120U has significantly more cores than the Xeon E-2276M. Indeed, the Core 5 120U has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E-2276M. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2276M has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core 5 120U. The info from our database shows that the Core 5 120U has more L2 cache than the Xeon E-2276M. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E-2276M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
