Xeon E-2186M vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1255U beats the Xeon E-2186M in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2186M in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Xeon E-2186M has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E-2186M has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1255U. Also, the Xeon E-2186M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Xeon E-2186M thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E-2186M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
