Xeon E-2176M vs Xeon E5-2670 v2 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2670 v2 performs better than the Xeon E-2176M. Despite this, the Xeon E-2176M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2670 v2 has significantly more cores than the Xeon E-2176M. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2670 v2 has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E-2176M. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2176M. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2176M has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2670 v2. Also, the Xeon E-2176M has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon E-2176M CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2670 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E-2176M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
