Xeon E-2176M vs Core i7-1255U comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1255U is faster than the Xeon E-2176M. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2176M in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Xeon E-2176M that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E-2176M has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Xeon E-2176M thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E-2176M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
