Xeon E-2146G vs Ryzen 7 5825U comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5825U beats the Xeon E-2146G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2146G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5825U has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon E-2146G that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2146G. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2146G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5825U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Ryzen 7 5825U outputs less heat than Xeon E-2146G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E-2146G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
