Xeon E-2146G vs EPYC 74F3 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the EPYC 74F3 is faster than the Xeon E-2146G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2146G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the EPYC 74F3 has significantly more cores than the Xeon E-2146G. Indeed, the EPYC 74F3 has 9 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E-2146G. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2146G. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2146G has a slightly higher clock speed than the EPYC 74F3. A Xeon E-2146G CPU outputs less heat than a EPYC 74F3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E-2146G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
