Xeon E-2146G vs Core i5-1340P specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-1340P is faster than the Xeon E-2146G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2146G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1340P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Xeon E-2146G that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2146G. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2146G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1340P. Despite this, the Core i5-1340P has a slightly higher turbo speed.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon E-2146G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
