Ryzen Z1 vs Core 7 240H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 7 240H is faster than the Ryzen Z1. Despite this, the Ryzen Z1 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core 7 240H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen Z1. Indeed, the Core 7 240H has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen Z1. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Z1. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Z1 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core 7 240H. Despite this, the Core 7 240H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core 7 240H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen Z1. The Core 7 240H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Z1 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
