Ryzen Threadripper 3970X vs Core i9-13900KF benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-13900KF is faster than the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X has slightly more cores than the Core i9-13900KF. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X has 32 cores compared to 24 cores found in the Core i9-13900KF. It also has more threads than the Core i9-13900KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-13900KF. Despite this, the Core i9-13900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-13900KF outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 3970X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i9-13900KF has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X. Despite this, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i9-13900KF.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
