In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX has significantly more cores than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX has 32 cores compared to 12 cores found in the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen Threadripper 1920X CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. The Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
