Ryzen Threadripper 1920X vs Core i9-11900KF specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-11900KF performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Core i9-11900KF that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-11900KF. Both the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X and Core i9-11900KF have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core i9-11900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-11900KF outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1920X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more L2 cache than the Core i9-11900KF. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
