Ryzen Threadripper 1920X vs Core i7-12800HX benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-12800HX performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-12800HX has slightly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has 12 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12800HX. Despite this, the Core i7-12800HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-12800HX outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1920X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-12800HX. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
