Ryzen Threadripper 1920X vs Core i7-12700K comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-12700K beats the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-12700K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Also, the Core i7-12700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen Threadripper 1920X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-12700K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
