Ryzen Threadripper 1920X vs Core i7-12650H comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-12650H beats the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has slightly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Core i7-12650H that has 10 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-12650H. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12650H. Despite this, the Core i7-12650H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-12650H outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1920X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-12650H. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
