Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Xeon W-11855M benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon W-11855M beats the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon W-11855M that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-11855M. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon W-11855M. Despite this, the Xeon W-11855M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon W-11855M outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
