Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Xeon E5-2667 v2 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2667 v2 performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Despite this, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2667 v2. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Xeon E5-2667 v2 outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
