Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Ryzen Threadripper 1950X benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Despite this, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X has significantly more cores than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X has 16 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. The Ryzen Threadripper 1950X also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
