Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Ryzen Threadripper 1920X specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is faster than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Despite this, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
